When Mike and I retired in 1998 I started thinking what I wanted to do for the community where we had moved. The food bank was a good fit for me. Since then I have learned a lot
About why there are so many families without good food to eat. We live in a small town without a grocery store and the nearest one is 35 miles away. I learned that this is called a food desert area because of that.
