Community Support Since 1987

The Port Townsend Food Bank plays a crucial role in addressing the issue of food insecurity. With the support and generosity of the people in the community, this vital organization is able to feed hundreds of individuals and families every week, ensuring that no one goes hungry.

The food bank serves as a lifeline for those who are struggling to meet their basic nutritional needs. It operates as a nonprofit organization, relying on donations from individuals, local businesses, and community organizations. The people of Port Townsend recognize the importance of coming together to support their neighbors in need, and their contributions are instrumental in making a difference.

A note from Shirley Moss

I started volunteering with the Port Townsend Food Bank in 1998. It was rewarding to see areas of need  at the Food Bank and fill them.
I took over as manager March 23rd, 2011. My best skill is finding amazing volunteers. I work with over 100 volunteers. The thing they all have in common is kindness and responsibility.
I’m a chain maker by profession, which allows me to make my own schedule and be able to run the Port Townsend Food Bank.
As of May 20th 2023 we opened for a new time of service. We are calling it the under 65 Expanded Saturday Food Bank. It evolved to best serve clients who are working or going to school and can’t get in to shop for food on Wednesday.
